The Times Supplement: Our Strange Empire
Welcome to Our Strange Empire
Day by day, the weird, the bizarre, the unexplained and the impossible become more real. In the shadows of the Rookery, in the back rooms of gentleman’s houses in Richmond, in buried and soundless cellars, beneath the waters of the Thames… things stir.
The empire is spread wide. The plundered relics of ancient Egypt crowd with tchotchkes brought back from the courts of the Tzars. Not all of these are worthless, although for many their price is payable only with blood or sanity.
Above it all towers the majesty of Queen Victoria, beloved by Her loyal subjects. Organisations sinister and foreign plot against her, and it the duty of all good British subjects to stand firm against their treachery.
